Industrial Development, Employment generation for youth as well as economic and social prosperity is what the Chhattisgarh state government expects to achieve with the new Chhattisgarh Industrial Policy 2019-24.
The policy is broad step of measures the State Government proposes to implement in its 5 years tenure.
Objectives of Chhattisgarh Industrial Policy the policy
The policy encourages development of allied sectors parallel to core sector and generate self-employment as well as additional employment opportunities in industries.
The policy is a mode to promote private sector participation for the development of basic and industrial infrastructure.
Subsidy, Exemption & concessions to encourage industrial investment
1. Interest Subsidy:
For micro & small industry interest subsidy ranges from Rs.10 lakhs p.a to Rs.25 lakhs ranging from 5 to 7 years depending on economic development of the area.
In terms of Medium scale industry can go up to 60 lakhs after meeting certain conditions. 2. Fixed capital investment Subsidy:
Fixed capital subsidy is different for Micro small and medium industries ranging from 30% to 45% of Fixed capital with a maximum of Rs.60 lakhs to 5 crores. The subsidy is more for SC/ST category. 3. Electricity exemption:
It ranges from 5 years to 12 years depending upon the area and ST/ST category. 4. Exemption of Stamp duty 5. Exemption on land premium on land allotment 6. Project report subsidy for various scale of industries ranges from 1 lakh to 4 lakhs. 7. Quality certification subsidy 8. Technical patent subsidy 9. Industrial award scheme 10. Establishment of private industrial park will be given 25% subsidy maximum of Rs.300 lakhs for a minimum 75 acers area.
The Chhattisgarh Industrial policy is the next step of development for the state and covers a variety of industries like Processing of:
1. Herbal and medicinal plant 2. Automobile, auto components 3. Cycle and product/accessories/spares used for manufacturing of cycle 4. Plant/machineries/engineering and its spares 5. Downstream product based on non-ferrous (Including Aluminium) metal 6. Industries based on agriculture and food processing defined by Govt. of India (Except rice mill) 7. Branded dairy product (Including milk chilling) 8. Pharmaceutical industry 9. White goods, electronic and electrical consumer goods 10. Industries falling under Information technology and IT enabled Services, Biotechnology and industries falling under Nano Technology 11. Industries relating to Seri culture, horticulture, floury culture, bio fertilizer, pici culture 12. Textile Industry (Spinning, weaving, power loom and Fabrics & other process) 13. Processing industry based on forest products 14. Products/equipment’s/spares used by Indian railway, telecommunication, defence, aviation companies and space department 15. Power generation from non-conventional sources 16. Defence, Medical and Laboratory equipment’s 17. Village Industries (approved by Rural industries department) 18. Such other industries as notified by the State Government.
