The Government of Karnataka has announced the New Industrial Policy 2014-19 initiated by Industries Commissionerate.
(i) To maintain an industrial growth rate of 12 % per annum
(ii) To enhance the contribution of manufacturing sector to the state GDP from present level of 16.87 % to 20% by the end of the policy period
(iii) To attract investment of Rs. 5 lakh crore
(iv) To create employment opportunities for 15 lakh persons

(v) Government schemes and incentives for promotion of entrepreneurs.
Government desires to achieve these objectives through various policy measures and oneof these is providing attractive package of incentives and concessions to various categoriesof MSMEs, Large, Mega, Ultra Mega and Super Mega enterprises.

• Entry Tax Exemption: The policy Provides for exemption from payment of entry tax on specified goods. The exemption will be available for different periods depending upon the location and size of the units.

• Electricity Duty: Exemption from payment of electricity to focused ultra mega enterprises and focused super mega enterprises.

• Other benefits : Concessional registration charges, reimbursement of land conversion fee, subsidies are also available under the policy to different units for setting up effluent treatment plants.
